Regular Season Round 12: Beroe - Balkan 94-90

The most important game in the last round took place in Stara Zagora between third ranked Balkan (7-3) and fourth ranked Beroe (6-5) on Tuesday night. Balkan was defeated by Beroe in a tough game on the road 90-94. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Balkan. It was a good game for American guard Jimmy Gavin (191-91, college: Winthrop, agency: 011 Sports) who led his team to a victory with 30 points. The former international swingman Nikolay Stoyanov (194-94) contributed with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian center Darko Balaban (211-89) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Balkan. Four Balkan players scored in double figures. Beroe maintains fourth position with 6-5 record. Defending champion Balkan keeps the third place with three games lost. Beroe are looking forward to face Academik Plovdiv (#5) on the road in the next round. Balkan will have a break next round.
