UBC St. Poelten (#5) was upset in Oberwart by eighth ranked Gunners Oberwart 78-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of UBC St. Poelten. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. They outrebounded UBC St. Poelten 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. American forward Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and international forward Renato Poljak (202-97) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Gunners Oberwart players scored in double figures. Greek Konstantinos Oikonomopoulos (192-96) came up with 26 points and 8 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Dutch forward Logan Schilder (213-96, college: WWU) added 17 points and 15 rebounds respectively for UBC St. Poelten in the defeat. Gunners Oberwart (8-8) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with UBSC Graz. UBC St. Poelten at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Wels. Gunners Oberwart will play against Arkadia Lions (#9) in Traiskirchen in the next round. UBC St. Poelten will play at home against UBSC Graz (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
