Regular Season Round 15: Copenhagen - Bakken 62-96
Date: January 15, 2021
The game between Top Four teams took place in Copenhagen. 3rd placed host Copenhagen (3-10) was smashed by first ranked Bakken (14-1) 96-62. It looked good early as Copenhagen took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bakken had a 26-10 second period charge getting the lead and Copenhagen was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-96. Bakken forced 24 Copenhagen turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Daniel Mortensen (204-94, college: Barry) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86, agency: Slash Sports) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Five Bakken players scored in double figures. American center Tyler Creammer (208-97, college: VMI) came up with 9 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Frederic Filsoof (188-95) added 13 points respectively for Copenhagen in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Bakken. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-1 record. Copenhagen at the other side keeps the third position with ten games lost. Bakken will play against Naestved (#5) at home in the next round. Copenhagen will play against the league's second-placed Vaerlose and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
