Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Bucuresti: Dinamo B. (#6) and Steaua B. (#9). Steaua B. was defeated at home 88-99 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It looked good early as Steaua B. took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dinamo B. had a 27-22 second period charge getting the lead and Steaua B. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 88-99. Dinamo B. made 23-of-25 charity shots (92.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Steaua B. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American point guard Armin Cane (188-93, college: Stockton, agency: Blacktop Management) who scored that evening 20 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Isaiah Armwood (206-90, college: GWU) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Cane is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Dinamo B.'s coach Antonis Konstantinides allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 23 points, 8 assists and 4 steals by the former international swingman Andrei Mandache (190-87) did not help to save the game for Steaua B.. American guard Maurice Creek (196-90, college: GWU) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Dinamo B. (6-3) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pitesti. Steaua B. at the other side keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Dinamo B.'s next round opponent will be Timisoara (#8) on the road. Steaua B. will play against Pitesti and hope to win that game.
