Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Buyukcekmece (7-10) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Tofas (9-7) 88-75 on Saturday. Tofas dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Buyukcekmece's 28. They outrebounded Buyukcekmece 40-27 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international Berkan Durmaz (206-97) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and British-American guard Tarik Phillip (191-93, college: WVU) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was British center Gabriel Olaseni (211-91, college: Iowa) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Osiris Eldridge (191-88, college: Illinois St.) scored 17 points. Five Tofas and four Buyukcekmece players scored in double figures. Buyukcekmece's coach Ozhan Civgin tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tofas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Buyukcekmece lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Tofas will face Afyon Bld (#6) in Afyonkarahisar in the next round. Buyukcekmece will play on the road against Dacka in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
