Very predictable result in Afyonkarahisar where sixth ranked Afyon Bld (9-9) defeated 12th ranked Socar Petkim (6-10) 94-76 on Saturday. Afyon Bld looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American point guard Chris Wright (185-89, college: Georgetown) had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-89, college: Wyoming) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Afyon Bld players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Kendrick Ray (188-94, college: KSU) with 22 points and his fellow American import center Steve Zack (210-92, college: La Salle) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Afyon Bld maintains sixth position with 9-9 record. Defending champion Socar Petkim keeps the twelfth place with ten games lost. Afyon Bld will face higher ranked Tofas (#4) in Bursa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Socar Petkim will play at home against the league's second-placed Pinar Karsiyaka (#2) and hope to win that game.
