Everything went according to plan when third ranked Coburg (9-5) won against on the road 12th ranked Speyer (1-6) 79-67 on Saturday. Coburg forced 22 Speyer turnovers. Strangely Speyer outrebounded Coburg 36-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Christopher Wolf (200-95) who scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Constantin Ebert (183-96) chipped in 8 points and 7 assists. Four Coburg players scored in double figures. Darian Cardenas (199-95) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and Eric Curth (193-92) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Coburg have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South. Speyer lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Coburg will face Giessen 2 (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
