Regular Season Round 13: Horsholm - Amager 60-77

An exciting game was played in Horsholm. First ranked Amager faced 3rd placed Horsholm. Guests from Kastrup (8-2) defeated host Horsholm (4-4) 77-60. The game was mostly controlled by Amager. Horsholm managed to win third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Horsholm 53-36 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Amager made 7 blocks. Canadian center Angela Ribarich (196-97, college: Ottawa, agency: DC Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 23 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Ena Viso (179-93, college: S.Dakota St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Four Amager players scored in double figures. International forward Gritt Ryder (173-92, college: Colorado St.) produced 11 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and international guard Elisabeth Hansen (176-93) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Amager maintains first place with 8-2 record. Defending champion Horsholm dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Amager will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Horsholm will play on the road against Aabyhoj (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
