The game in Sumy was also quite interesting. Third ranked MBC-Niko 2 (11-4) played at the court of 6th ranked SumDU (5-6). MBC-Niko 2 managed to secure a 5-point victory 92-87 on Sunday. SumDU was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-19 charge of MBC-Niko 2, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Bogdan Lukian (183-99) fired 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Vladislav Orzul (192-1) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Oleksandr Prokopenko (190-92) produced 22 points, 6 assists and 4 steals and center Yevgen Brechko (206-92) added 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) respectively for lost side. Four SumDU players scored in double figures. SumDU's coach Yaroslav Kovalov tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. MBC-Niko 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 11-4 record behind leader Rivne. Loser SumDU keeps the sixth place with six games lost. MBC-Niko 2 will face Novomoskovsk (#8) in Dnipro in the next round where they are favorite. SumDU will play at home against Mariupol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
