Regular Season Round 18: Mykolaiv - Odessa 81-63

Bottom-ranked Mykolaiv managed to get a third victory, breaking the four-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked Odessa 81-63. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference proves that Mykolaiv was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Mykolaiv. Odessa managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mykolaiv dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Odessa's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Canadian-Nigerian guard Keith Omoerah (194-92, college: Manitoba) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and American point guard Derrick Colter (180-94, college: Duquesne, agency: Players Group) supported him with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Mykolaiv's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 15 points and 9 rebounds by American swingman Delaney Blaylock (196, college: Lewis) did not help to save the game for Odessa. Guard Yuri Kondrakov (191-96) added 13 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mykolaiv maintains eleventh position with 3-11 record. Loser Odessa keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost.
