Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Goettingen (6-5) beat at home 8th ranked Gisa Lions (4-9) 74-59 on Sunday. Goettingen made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Goettingen outrebounded Gisa Lions 43-28 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. International point guard Jennifer Crowder (164-96) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners and Greek forward Vasiliki Karambatsa (187-96) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. Five Goettingen players scored in double figures. At the losing side American swingman Darien Huff (175-97, college: Charleston) responded with 13 points and Czech power forward Barbora Kasparkova (183-92) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Goettingen. They maintain fifth place with 6-5 record, which they share with Osnabrueck. Gisa Lions lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Goettingen will meet at home league's leader Gruner Stern Keltern in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gisa Lions will play against Hannover (#12) and hope to secure a win.
