We should mention about the upset which took place in Istanbul, where higher ranked Urla (5-5) lost to eleventh ranked Fenerbahce G. (4-6) in a road game 80-85. Fenerbahce G. made 28-of-34 charity shots (82.4 percent) during the game, while Urla only scored nine points from the stripe. Fenerbahce G. players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Shelby Cheslek (196-92, college: Gonzaga) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Duygu Ozen (168-1) accounted for 19 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Fenerbahce G. players scored in double figures. Fenerbahce G.'s coach Alper Koc allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Basak Altunbey (189-96) came up with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Marie Benson (185-97, college: UT Arlington) added 20 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Urla in the defeat. Fenerbahce G. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Urla lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with five games lost. Fenerbahce G.'s next round opponent will be Duzce Bld (#9) on the road.
