Regular Season Round 11: Edremit - Bursa 60-85

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Balikesir. Leader Bursa faced 4th placed Edremit. Guests from Bursa (11-0) smashed host Edremit (8-2) 85-60. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Edremit. Bursa dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Edremit's 36. They outrebounded Edremit 47-19 including a 38-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bursa looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Edremit's players. The best player for the winners was American center Sasha Goodlett (195-90, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 27 points. Forward Sanem Zeren (178-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Bursa's coach Murat Alkas felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Breanna Richardson (185-95, college: MSU) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and Deniz Sanli (176-94) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Bursa have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-0 record. Edremit at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Bursa are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Sakarya Y. (#16) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Edremit will play against Mersin Univ. (#12) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
