Regular Season Round 11: Champion 2006 - Slavia 57-59

The most exciting game of round 11 in the NBL took place in Sofia. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Champion 2006 (4-6) to fourth ranked Slavia (4-4) 59-57 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Champion 2006. Slavia forced 23 Champion 2006 turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Gergana Branzova-Erdenay (193-76) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Maria Svetoslavova (180-93) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Slavia's coach Silvia Peeva used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Viktoria Ivanova (170-0) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Michaela Damyanova (190-3) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Slavia moved-up to third place. Champion 2006 at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost.
