Regular Season Round 16: Bakken - Naestved 110-88
Date: January 23, 2021
Leader Bakken delivered the fifteenth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Naestved (10-9) 110-88 in Aarhus. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Naestved was better in second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bakken forced 22 Naestved turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Naestved helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by the former international forward Daniel Mortensen (204-94, college: Barry) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard QJ Peterson (183-94, college: VMI) supported him with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 15 points and 7 rebounds by Montenegrin center Miki Novovic (208-92) did not help to save the game for Naestved. American Jalen Nesbitt (198-93, college: N.Florida) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Five Bakken and four Naestved players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bakken (15-1) have an impressive 13-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Naestved at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Bakken's next round opponent will be Horsens IC (#3) on the road, which may be the game of the day. Naestved will play against the league's second-placed Randers and hope to win that game.
