Regular Season Round 16: Randers - Amager 125-85

Date: January 23, 2021
The game with biggest result difference took place in Randers. Local Randers (13-3) outscored 5th ranked Amager (1-13) 125-85 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Randers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 24 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Randers looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Amager's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Randers made 9 blocks. The former international forward Chris Nielsen (193-85) fired a triple-double by scoring 45 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American forward Preston Bungei (198-95, college: Norfolk St.) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Oscar Quackenbush (187-99) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Jordan Naughton (208-97, college: Wyoming) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Randers and four Amager players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Randers have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-3 record having just nine point less than leader Bakken. Amager lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. Randers will face Naestved (#5) at home in the next round. Amager will play against BAC in Aarhus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
