Regular Season Round 15: Rilski - Balkan 71-76

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Rilski (12-2) in Samokov on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Balkan (9-3) 76-71. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Rilski. Balkan dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Rilski's 12. It was a good game for the former international guard Bozhidar Avramov (196-90, agency: 011 Sports) who led his team to a victory with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Tajuan Agee (206-97, college: Iona) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Balkan players scored in double figures. The former international Pavlin Ivanov (195-93, agency: 011 Sports) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Deyan Karamfilov (180-94, agency: BIG) added 9 points and 6 assists in the effort for Rilski. Rilski's coach Ludmil Hadjisotirov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains third place with 9-3 record having five points less than leader Rilski. Rilski at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Balkan are looking forward to face league's second-placed Levski Lukoil in Sofia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rilski will have a break next round.
