We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 10th ranked Gisa Lions (4-12) were defeated on the road by eleventh ranked TV Saarlouis Royals (4-11) 75-65 on Saturday. TV Saarlouis Royals forced 21 Gisa Lions turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Brittany Brown (173-95, college: FSU) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 7 steals for the winners. The other American import forward Addison Richards (188-98, college: Tulsa) chipped in 22 points. Four TV Saarlouis Royals players scored in double figures. British guard Eilidh Simpson (170-92, college: SFC) produced 14 points and Czech power forward Barbora Kasparkova (183-92) added 7 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Gisa Lions' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TV Saarlouis Royals moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Hannover. Gisa Lions lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. TV Saarlouis Royals will face higher ranked Osnabrueck (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gisa Lions will play against the league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
