Regular Season Round 18: Siauliai - Prienai CBet 99-105

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Prienai CBet (7-13) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Siauliai (4-11) 105-99. The guests were already 14 points ahead at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 31-20 last quarter charge of Siauliai cut the lead to 105-99 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Siauliai 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Prienai CBet shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. It was a good game for guard Dominykas Domarkas (190-92) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 5 assists. Mindaugas Susinskas (204-95) contributed with 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Icelandic point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 assists and swingman Martynas Varnas (196-97) added 20 points in the effort for Siauliai. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Prienai CBet moved-up to sixth place. Siauliai at the other side stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Prienai CBet's next round opponent will be higher ranked Lietkabelis (#4) in Panevezys and it may be quite challenging game. Siauliai will play at home against the league's second-placed Rytas (#2) and hope to win that game.
