The game between Top Four teams took place in Dresden. Third ranked host Titans (10-2) defeated 4th ranked Giessen 2 (9-5) 90-82. They outrebounded Giessen 2 42-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Titans players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by point guard Lennard Larysz (194-97) who scored that evening 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and center Max von der Wippel (206-94) supported him with 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Titans' coach Fabian Strauss allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 20 points and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws) by American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) did not help to save the game for Giessen 2. Tim Uhlemann (203-99) added 17 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Titans have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South. Giessen 2 at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Titans will play against Arvato College Wizards (#8) in Karlsruhe in the next round where they are favorite. Giessen 2 will play at home against Skyliners II (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
