Regular Season Round 21: Darussafaka - Pinar Karsiyaka 86-77

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (16-4) against eighth ranked Dacka (10-10) on Saturday night. Visiting Pinar Karsiyaka was defeated by Dacka in a tough game in Istanbul 77-86. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Pinar Karsiyaka. Dacka made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was American Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington) who scored 31 points. International point guard Dogus Ozdemiroglu (191-96) chipped in 16 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Raymar Morgan (202-88, college: Michigan St.) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Yunus Sonsirma (192-92) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively. Four Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dacka moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Besiktas and Gaziantep. Loser Pinar Karsiyaka keeps the second position with four games lost. Dacka will meet Bursaspor (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pinar Karsiyaka will play against Turk Telekom (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
