Regular Season Round 37: Jonava - Gargzdu 99-86

NKL top team - Jonava (19-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Gargzdu (15-9) 99-86. Jonava dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gargzdu's 30 and made 19-of-19 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Jonava players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Aurimas Urbonas (198-93) nailed a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 assists for the winning side and American forward Kahlil Thomas (203-94, college: Rider) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Mantas Ruikis (197-85) came up with 28 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Ernestas Bruzas (182-96) added 22 points respectively for Gargzdu in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jonava have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. Gargzdu at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Jonava will play against Zalgiris II (#4) in Kaunas in the next round. Gargzdu will have a break next round.
