Rather expected game when 11th ranked Galatasaray (7-13) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Gaziantep (10-10) 68-61 on Saturday. Gaziantep outrebounded Galatasaray 44-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. French center Mouhammadou Jaiteh (211-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 19 rebounds for the winners and American guard Kenny Hayes (190-87, college: Miami, OH) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Alex Hamilton (193-93, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Wasserman) with 17 points and Australian Brock Motum (208-90, college: WSU) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Gaziantep. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Darussafaka and Besiktas. Loser Galatasaray dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Gaziantep will face bottom-ranked OGM Orman (#16) in Ankara in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Galatasaray will play at home against Socar Petkim (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
