An interesting game took place in Weissenfels where higher ranked MBC (5-11) was upset on its own court by sixteenth ranked Telekom Baskets (4-11) 103-97 on Saturday. Telekom Baskets made 36-of-44 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while MBC only scored twenty points from the stripe. Telekom Baskets had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. MBC was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Chris Babb (196-90, college: Iowa St., agency: Wasserman) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and the other American import power forward James Thompson-IV (208-95, college: EMU) who added 16 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side Polish swingman Michal Michalak (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Quinton Hooker (183-95, college: N.Dakota) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Telekom Baskets moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Chemnitz. MBC lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Telekom Baskets will have a break next round.
