Rather expected game when 5th ranked Amager (1-16) was defeated on the road by second ranked Vaerlose (7-10) 102-88 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vaerlose. Amager was better in fourth quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Vaerlose forced 20 Amager turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International Mathias Christensen (202-95) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Martin Poulsen (195-98, college: Mt.St.Mary's) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Jonathan Klussmann (190-2) with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Jordan Naughton (208-97, college: Wyoming) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five Amager players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vaerlose have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-10 record behind leader Bakken. Amager lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 16 games lost. Vaerlose will face again Amager (#5) in Kastrup in the next round.
