Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Skyliners II (4-12) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Giessen 2 (11-5) 97-81 on Sunday. Giessen 2 made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) chipped in 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Noah Kamdem (198-98) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Matthew Meredith (200-0) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Skyliners II players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Giessen 2 moved-up to third place in South. Loser Skyliners II dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Giessen 2 will face Erfurt (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Skyliners II will play against White Wings and hope to win that game.
