The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Coburg as it allowed them to take a leadership position in South. Coburg defeated 12th ranked Erfurt at home 86-76. Coburg forced 20 Erfurt turnovers. Strangely Erfurt outrebounded Coburg 36-19 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Coburg players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Point guard Constantin Ebert (183-96) nailed 21 points and 7 assists for the winning side and Christopher Wolf (200-95) accounted for 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. British forward Rowell Graham (197-94) came up with 36 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Robert Merz (199-0) added 6 points and 10 assists respectively for Erfurt in the defeat. Erfurt's coach Uvis Helmanis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Coburg (12-5) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Erfurt at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 11 games lost. Erfurt will play next round against strong Giessen 2 trying to get back on the winning streak. Coburg will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Oberhaching at Deisenhofen.
