Regular Season Round 38: Jonava - Zalgiris II 99-71

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Jonava. First ranked Jonava faced 4th ranked Zalgiris II. Host Jonava (20-2) smashed guests from Kaunas (17-10) 99-71. Jonava dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris II's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Zalgiris II's players. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95, agency: BIG) who scored 16 points. American forward Kahlil Thomas (203-94, college: Rider) chipped in 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Jonava players scored in double figures. Swingman Mantas Rubstavicius (198-2) produced 16 points and guard Radvilas Kneizys (192-3) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jonava have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-2 record. Zalgiris II lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with ten games lost. Jonava are looking forward to face Mazeikiai (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Zalgiris II will have a break next round.
