Everything could happen in Istanbul at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Socar Petkim and 12th ranked Galatasaray had identical 7-13 record. But Galatasaray was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Petkim 89-65 on Wednesday night. Socar Petkim outrebounded Galatasaray 37-24 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Swingman Okben Ulubay (201-97) fired 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Kendrick Ray (188-94, college: KSU) chipped in 17 points. Four Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. American point guard Travis Trice II (183-93, college: Michigan St.) produced 16 points and 8 assists and his fellow American import power forward Johnathan Williams III (206-95, college: Gonzaga, agency: Wasserman) added 14 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion (8-13) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Bahcesehir. Loser Galatasaray keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost.
