Regular Season Round 22: Ternopil-TNEU - K.Sokoly 102-47

There was no surprise when 9th ranked K.Sokoly (5-15) was crushed on the road by third ranked Ternopil-TNEU (14-8) 102-47. The game without a history. Ternopil-TNEU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding K.Sokoly to just 2 points in first quarter. Ternopil-TNEU dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to K.Sokoly's 28. Ternopil-TNEU forced 21 K.Sokoly turnovers and outrebounded them 55-36 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ternopil-TNEU players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by K.Sokoly's players. The former international power forward Maksim Sandul (207-91, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and guard Dmytro Golovchyk (187-0) supported him with 18 points and 5 assists. Four Ternopil-TNEU players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds by swingman Anton Musiyenko (192-97) did not help to save the game for K.Sokoly. Forward Konstantin Mosul (196-87) added 13 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Ternopil-TNEU maintains third position with 14-8 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Kyiv Basket. K.Sokoly lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Ternopil-TNEU's next round opponent will be Cherkasy (#8) on the road where they are favorite. K.Sokoly will play against the league's leader Kyiv Basket and hope to win that game.
