Regular Season Round 14: Bodrum - Edremit 80-76

We should mention about the upset which took place in Mugla, where higher ranked Edremit (9-4) lost to twelfth ranked Bodrum (5-9) in a road game 76-80. Bodrum dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Edremit's 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American forward Angela Tompkins (188-91, college: Wichita St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Point guard Ilsu Daricioglu (167-83) contributed with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Bodrum's coach Arda Demir allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard Revaziye Donmez (-88) replied with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Breanna Richardson (185-95, college: MSU) added 10 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Edremit. Five Edremit players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Bodrum maintains twelfth position with 5-9 record. Edremit at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Bodrum will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Edremit will play at home against Urla (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
