Seventh-ranked Prienai CBet (7-14) was very close to win a game against third ranked Juventus (14-6) in Utena on Wednesday. Juventus managed to secure only three-point victory 94-91. However their fans expected much easier game. Prienai CBet cut a 18-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Juventus made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Prienai CBet helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international guard Martynas Gecevicius (193-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). The former international point guard Vaidas Kariniauskas (197-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 assists for the winners. American point guard Marquis Wright (185-95, college: Siena) replied with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Einaras Tubutis (207-98) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Prienai CBet. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Juventus maintains third position with 14-6 record behind leader Zalgiris.
