Regular Season Round 22: Ternopil-TNEU - Dnipro 81-82

Important game to mention about took place in Ternopil. Second ranked Dnipro (15-5) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Ternopil-TNEU (14-8) 82-81 in the fight for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ternopil-TNEU. The guests were ahead by 6 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 21-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. Dnipro players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (203-92) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds. International guard Issuf Sanon (193-99) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: UConn, agency: Players Group) replied with 31 points and 6 assists and the former international swingman Oleksandr Kolchenko (195-88) added 21 points in the effort for Ternopil-TNEU. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains second position with 15-5 record behind leader Kyiv Basket. Newly promoted Ternopil-TNEU keeps the third place with eight games lost. Dnipro will play against Budivelnyk (#7) in Kyiv in the next round where they are favorite. Ternopil-TNEU will play on the road against Cherkasy (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
