Bottom-ranked 46ers managed to get a third victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Friday night. This time they won against fourth-ranked EWE Baskets in Oldenburg 97-93. 46ers shot 63.8 percent from the field. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: UMass) who led his team to a victory with 25 points. Forward Brandon Bowman (206-84, college: Georgetown, agency: David Lee Services) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Power forward Nathan Boothe (206-94, college: Toledo) replied with 21 points and point guard Phil Pressey (180-91, college: Missouri) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for EWE Baskets. Four 46ers and five EWE Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. 46ers (3-14) moved-up to seventeenth place. EWE Baskets at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. 46ers are looking forward to face higher ranked Hamburg Towers (#7) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. EWE Baskets will play against Bayreuth and are hoping to win this game.
