Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Hannover (5-11) rolled over at home bottom-ranked BasCats Heidelberg (3-12) 97-71 on Saturday. Hannover shot 69.2 percent from the field. Hannover had a 25-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 70.6 percentage. Hannover looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Slovenian center Teja Gorsic (187-99) nailed 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Belarusian guard Alexandra Tarasava (172-88) accounted for 16 points and 6 assists. Four Hannover players scored in double figures. Hannover's coach Juliane Hoehne felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Fallyn Freije (183-96, college: Montana St.) came up with 26 points and guard Britta Daub (177-99, college: HBU) added 9 points and 6 assists respectively for BasCats Heidelberg in the defeat. Hannover moved-up to eighth place. Loser BasCats Heidelberg stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Hannover will meet XCYDE Angels Noerdlingen (#10) on the road in the next round. BasCats Heidelberg will play against Herner TC and hope to secure a win.
