Regular Season Round 23: Zaporizhye - Khimik 72-68

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Zaporizhye (15-8) won against 6th ranked Khimik (13-9) in Zaporozhye 72-68 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Mike Caffey (183-93, college: LBSU, agency: Players Group) who led the winners and scored 8 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Guard Josh Fortune (196-94, college: Colorado) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Fortune is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Lewis Sullivan (201-95, college: UAB, agency: BIG) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and forward Tyrell Nelson (201-95, college: Gardner-Webb) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Khimik in the defeat. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Zaporizhye. They moved-up to third place. Khimik at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost.
