Regular Season Round 15: Amager - Aabyhoj 85-67
Date: February 13, 2021
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Amager as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Amager defeated 3rd placed Aabyhoj in Kastrup 85-67. The game was mostly controlled by Amager. Aabyhoj managed to win second period 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aabyhoj 43-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Canadian center Angela Ribarich (196-97, college: Ottawa, agency: DC Sports) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. The former international Rikke Fabricius (187-92, college: CMU) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was international forward Malene Pedersen (180-1) with 25 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and international center Caroline Wich (185-96, college: Portland St.) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Aabyhoj at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. Aabyhoj will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Amager will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked SISU in Copenhagen.
