Rather expected game when 13th ranked Botas (3-11) lost to tenth ranked Duzce Bld (6-8) in Ankara 80-90. The best player for the winners was American forward Lydia Rivers (188, college: Virginia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Pelin Kuccuk (172-90) chipped in 25 points. Four Duzce Bld players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Tearra Banks (188-95, college: Austin Peay) who recorded 32 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and Hatice Gulcelik (178-2) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Botas' coach Cemal Gozeneli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Duzce Bld moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Mersin Univ. and Fenerbahce G. Botas at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Duzce Bld's next round opponent will be higher ranked Edremit (#4) in Balikesir and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Botas will play at home against Karsiyaka (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
