Regular Season Round 18: Erfurt - Giessen 2 77-85

Very expected game when 12th ranked Erfurt (2-12) was defeated at home by third ranked Giessen 2 (12-5) 85-77 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Tim Uhlemann (203-99) chipped in 26 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Tobias Bode (206-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard RJ Price (183-93, college: Radford) added 19 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Giessen 2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in South. Erfurt lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Giessen 2 will face OrangeAcademy (#4) in Ulm in the next round. Erfurt will play at home against Skyliners II (#9) and hope to win that game.
