The game between Top Four teams took place in Quakenbrueck. Third ranked host Artland Dragons (12-7) defeated their biggest opponent Science City Jena (12-4) 93-89. Artland Dragons had a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 33 personal fouls committed by Science City Jena helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Robert Oehle (209-88) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American Gerel Simmons (188-93, college: LMU) chipped in 28 points during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Kasey Hill (185-93, college: Florida) responded with 19 points and 8 assists and Stephan Haukohl (203-93) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Artland Dragons maintains third position with 12-7 record having just three point less than leader Jena. Science City Jena at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. Artland Dragons are looking forward to face Bayer Giants (#7) in Leverkusen in the next round. Science City Jena will play on the road against Walter Tigers (#12) in Tuebingen and is hoping to win this game.
