The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Skyliners II's (7-12) home victory over 10th ranked Speyer (5-10) in Frankfurt 67-64 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Speyer 44-25 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for Jordan Samare (202-2) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). International point guard Len Schoormann (192-2, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Skyliners II's coach Miran Cumurija allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Darian Cardenas (199-95) answered with 17 points and center David Aichele (212-99) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Speyer. Four Speyer players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Skyliners II. They maintain ninth place in South with 7-12 record. Loser Speyer keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Skyliners II will face league's leader Coburg at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Speyer will play against Titans (#3) and hope to win that game.
