Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce (#3) and Galatasaray (#8). Fenerbahce (2-0) won against visiting Galatasaray (0-2) 78-65. Fenerbahce forced 23 Galatasaray turnovers. Forward Yigit Onan (207-2) nailed 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Mert Eksioglu (182-2) accounted for 21 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Acar Sen (193-3) came up with 21 points and Kadir Ozdemir (-3) added 15 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for Galatasaray in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fenerbahce keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Darussafaka and TAC NEF. Galatasaray at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with OGM Orman and Fethiye. Fenerbahce will meet at home Petkim Spor (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Galatasaray will play against Ormanspor and hopes to get finally their first victory.
