Regular Season Round 23: Adana Basket - Botas 57-85

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Adana: Botas (#6) and Adana Basket (#13). Adana Basket was crushed at home by 28 points 57-85 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Botas dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Adana Basket's 34. They outrebounded Adana Basket 40-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Botas players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Adana Basket's players. It was an exceptional evening for Aysude Yildiztekin (-1) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Isilay Egin (-1) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Botas players scored in double figures. Point guard Oyku Taskin (172-0) came up with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Ezgi Manlaci (177-96) added 4 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for Adana Basket in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Botas maintains sixth place with 11-9 record, which they share with Ormanspor. Adana Basket lost their fourteenth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Botas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Nesibe (#3) in Ankara and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Adana Basket will play on the road against Besiktas (#11) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
