Regular Season Round 22: Mladost ZE - Vrsac 116-91

KLS top team - Mladost ZE (20-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Vrsac (10-12) in Zemun 116-91. The game was mostly controlled by Mladost ZE. Vrsac managed to win fourth quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mladost ZE dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Vrsac's 36. Mladost ZE forced 20 Vrsac turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Trey Drechsel (198-96, college: GCU) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 assists. Matija Belic (200-3) contributed with 18 points for the winners. American power forward Brandon Peterson (203-90, college: Arkansas St.) replied with 21 points and 4 assists and Dejan Janjic (198-95) added 19 points in the effort for Vrsac. Five Mladost ZE and four Vrsac players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mladost ZE have an impressive 18-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-1 record. Vrsac at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Tamis. Mladost ZE are looking forward to face Novi Pazar (#4) on the road in the next round. Vrsac will play against Sloboda U. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
