The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Alytaus as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Alytaus defeated 5th ranked Zalgiris at home 69-55. Alytaus held Zalgiris to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Alytaus had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Gedvile Savostaite (180-2) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Forward Justina Razukeviciute (173-95) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Alytaus' coach Kristina Griziene used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alytaus have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Vilniaus univ. Zalgiris at the other side keeps the fifth place with one game lost. They share the position with KKSC-Naftenas. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
