Regular Season Round 10: Schwabach - Bad Homburg 60-76

An interesting game for Homburger TG (7-1) which played road game in Schwabach against 4th ranked Schwabach (4-5). Second ranked Homburger TG had an easy win 76-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Schwabach. Homburger TG made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while Schwabach only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded Schwabach 47-25 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Spanish forward Nerea Odriozola (181-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Ashley Gray (185-96, college: Portland) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Gray is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Homburger TG players scored in double figures. American forward Niki Metzel (188-98, college: Drexel) replied with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import point guard Kaela Hilaire (157-98, college: Stony Brook) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Schwabach. Schwabach's coach Nikolay Gospodinov let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Homburger TG maintains second position in South with 7-1 record behind leader Wuerzburg. Loser Schwabach dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. Homburger TG will face Heidelberg 2 (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Schwabach will play against Ludwigsburg and hope to win that game.
