Regular Season Round 19: Giessen 2 - Ulm 86-79

An interesting game for Giessen 2 (13-5) which hosted in Giessen 4th placed OrangeAcademy (11-7). Second ranked Giessen 2 managed to get a 7-point victory 86-79. Giessen 2 made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Giessen 2 had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. OrangeAcademy was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American swingman Donte Nicholas (196-87, college: Fresno Pacific) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Tim Uhlemann (203-99) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side Moritz Krimmer (202-0) responded with 26 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Montenegrin forward Andrija Grbovic (206-3) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Five Giessen 2 and four OrangeAcademy players scored in double figures. OrangeAcademy's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Giessen 2 have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place in South with 13-5 record having just two points less than leader Bochum. OrangeAcademy at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Giessen 2 will play against Speyer (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. OrangeAcademy will play against Titans (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
