Regular Season Round 26: MBC-Niko 2 - Invasport 71-66 OT

Eighth-ranked Invasport (1-19) gave a tough game to third ranked MBC-Niko 2 (14-7) in Mykolaiv on Sunday. MBC-Niko 2 managed to secure only five-point victory 71-66. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 20-16 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 5-point victory in overtime. Invasport was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Vladislav Orzul (192-1) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Bogdan Lukian (183-99) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four MBC-Niko 2 players scored in double figures. Point guard Ivan Dudar (180-98) responded with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and center Pavlo Riazantsev (202-95) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Invasport's coach Stanislav Kakovkin tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. MBC-Niko 2 maintains third position with 14-7 record behind leader Krivbas. Newly promoted Invasport keeps the eighth place with 19 games lost. MBC-Niko 2 will face league's second-placed Polytechnic in Kharkov in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
