There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Kayseri (6-15) beat on the road higher ranked Mersin (12-9) 91-73 on Sunday. Kayseri made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Kayseri outrebounded Mersin 39-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Latvian forward Kitija Laksa (186-96, college: S.Florida, agency: Wasserman) who led her team to a victory with 27 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Melis Gulcan (186-96) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Kayseri's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. British-American power forward Kristine Anigwe (193-97, college: California) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and international Goksen Fitik (175-1) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Mersin. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kayseri maintains twelfth position with 6-15 record. Mersin lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost.
