No shocking result in a game when second ranked Aistes-LSMU (11-4) beat 5th ranked LCC Tarp. (1-14) in Kaunas 82-70 on Sunday. Aistes-LSMU forced 23 LCC Tarp. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by the former international forward Gabija Segzdaite (185-0) who scored that evening 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Brigita Sinickaite (175-1) supported her with 19 points and 4 assists. Five Aistes-LSMU players scored in double figures. Even 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by forward Vilte Andrunaviciute (178-4) did not help to save the game for LCC Tarp.. Forward Rusne Bugaite (179-3) added 19 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aistes-LSMU maintains second position with 11-4 record having just eighteen point less than leader Kibirkstis. LCC Tarp. lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Kibirkstis-VKM. Aistes-LSMU will meet Siauliu Siauliai (#4) on the road in the next round. LCC Tarp. will play against Kibirkstis-VKM and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
